Hadean
SKO 2023
Memorable moments from our annual kick-off event, featuring partners, investors... and a mission to send a rocket to space!
With Captain Craig Beddis and his AI twin at the helm our teams were invited to take a seat and strap in for an exciting journey of reflection, discovery and learning that ultimately helped answer the event’s critical question: Are you metaverse ready?
As we leave the successes of 2022 behind, the first month of 2023 for Hadean ended with a landmark kick-off event which set our plans for this year in motion, highlighted our partners and business wins and, most of all, celebrated the greatest asset of our company – our amazing people.
Hadean is in the business of using bleeding-edge tech to enable the creation of unique and immersive experiences for customers. Our value add and contribution to our partners however depends on the determination and commitment of our teams who consistently strive to deliver excellence, the Hadean Way.
Hadean’s mission is to power the metaverse, not as a corporate overlord, but as an open and transparent tech enabler who can empower anyone to build the metaverse. With this in mind, our Chief Technology Officer, Aidan Hobson Sayers and Chief Operating Officer, Mimi Keshani, explained how Hadean is building the tools that can unleash the creativity of the world’s developers and content creators to turn the products of their imagination into reality.
At Hadean we strongly believe that the metaverse will be the next iteration of the internet. A spatial/3D, immersive, persistent and interactive environment that will blur the boundaries between physical and virtual worlds and help solve real-life problems. VP Sales, Mike Gunadi, gave a stimulating talk about current industry trends and took the opportunity to unveil our plans to develop the Hadean Metaverse Academy, Hadean’s customisable product suite that will offer a tailored curriculum with educational pathways for brands, creators and in-house L&D.
We will…
Build the tools that unleash the creativity of the worlds’ developers and creators to build all the weird and wonderful ideas of their imaginations…

He also spoke on Hadean’s partnership with blockchain gaming leaders, GamesCoin, and the ongoing project he is spearheading to create vast virtual worlds for the content creator ecosystem of the metaverse.

Thought Leaders
Best-selling author and metaverse superstar, Matthew Ball, was invited to join our event and dialled in remotely to talk to our company directly about the challenges of the metaverse as well as the unlimited potential it has to offer to content creators and business leaders alike. Matthew’s work is instrumental in furthering the conversation around Web 3.0 technology and we were thrilled to be able to ask questions and discuss how our work as a trusted tech enabler will power the future of massive digital environments.
We Are...
A Metaverse Partner Ecosystem
Over the three day event, we were hyped to see a wide range of heavy-hitting members of our partner ecosystem join us, from gaming and blockchain to defence and the Armed Forces.
Move.ai were our Innovation Keynote speakers. Niall Hendry (Head of Partnerships & Delivery) and Jack Broome (Technical Account Manager) demonstrated their patented AI technology which enables the extraction of high fidelity motion-capture from any video and the input of movement into any digital world. One of the many appealing elements of the work they are doing is how straightforward the tech is to set up, as a few members of the Hadean team found out when they gave it a try themselves, just three claps, make a T-shape and off you go!

Bruce Grove, VP and GM
Bruce Grove, (VP and GM) of Mythical Games delivered the Gaming Keynote. Their approach uses blockchain technology to enable players to become stakeholders within the economy of the game and open new revenue streams for players and game developers alike, as value is derived from the time and money they are already putting into the games.
Pixelmax’s Chief Architect, Eddie Aspden, came onboard to share the work they are doing as they help businesses enter the metaverse and bring brands to life in the space through immersive experiences that drive increased engagement. The projects they build out run the gamut from virtual workplaces to virtual events and digital twins.

A Defence Partner Ecosystem
We were excited to welcome CAE’s Joe Armstrong (VP Synthetic Environments & Immersive Technologies) to provide our Defence Keynote. Hadean and CAE have partnered together to deliver the next generation of single synthetic environments that will drive our joint capabilities. Together we are exploring new business avenues, putting our tech stack together to deliver massive virtual decision support tools aimed at solving the real life challenges of today and tomorrow.

Lieutenant Colonel Rich Grover MBE, who is a Commander at the Combat Ready Training Centre for the British Army spoke to us from his perspective as a direct user of the synthetic training programmes we help to deliver. He recalled an eye-opening experience that involved lions and a huge herd of elephants on a training mission in East Africa which drove home the importance of being truly prepared for anything!

It was a real honour to get to hear from Air Marshal (Ret’d) and former Chief of Defence Intelligence Phil ‘Osby’ Osborn (current Director at Universal Defence and Security Solutions) who rounded up the Metaverse for Defence talks. Uncle Phil, as we fondly refer to him at Hadean, painted a picture of the historical, current and future events that have led to a very real urgency for highly immersive, metaverse-ready solutions that companies such as Hadean are offering. The harnessing of these technologies is fast becoming the major differentiator between success and failure meaning that we are in a great position to make a big impact on future preparedness for the Armed Forces.

Trusted By Our Investors
Cornel Chiriac, of 2050 Capital, one of Hadean’s long-standing investors, shared his experience and insights on the importance of forging close working relationships between companies and investors.
He expounded on the role of the investor as an enabler for the companies that they believe and invest financially in to excel and find opportunities for growth in their relevant markets. It was an illuminating talk for our team, many of whom are in job functions that seldom get into direct contact with the investors that fuel their work. We are grateful to Cornel for his faith in the company vision, and for committing to help us on our journey of growth.
Houston, we've got a problem
Captain Craig is eager to explore the frontiers of space and has no space ship!
In and amongst the amazing roster of guest speakers we ran a Minecraft based team building activity. Each team was composed of colleagues from across departments and charged with the creation of all the different elements that are required to send a rocket to outer space.
All of the teams nailed the briefing, delivering full working designs, marketing materials, and an all important sales pitch.
The final presentations were whimsical and hilarious, but they drove home an important message: Hadean thrives on teamwork, and this exercise showed how creative, coordinated and ingenious our people can be when called upon to deliver cross-functional solutions to customers under time pressure.
All parts were swiftly put together by our teams of "spacecraft" engineers" and our esteemed passenger was successfully launched into space, as seen in the video below.
Work Hard, Play Hard, especially after a long day of exciting partner speeches and team-building activities. Our squad members take every opportunity they can get to spend time together and decompress so a visit to the pub couldn’t be left out of our list of activities.
Where else would we enjoy a celebratory meal together as a company than on a historic warship that saw active service in some of the most famous military campaigns of recent times. Friends and partners were invited to join us on board the HMS Belfast where we spent time exploring the vessel before enjoying each other’s company over dinner... and a game of BattleShip.
Teamwork. That’s the basis for everything we achieve – the Hadean Way.
The annual SKO event is an opportunity to bring our talented people together as One Hadean, celebrate our successes and partnerships and highlight the work of some of our most distinguished team members.
Business partners, military end-users and investors were all present this year to speak to our team in person and communicate one, singular message: Your work is valuable to our mission and we can’t thank you enough!
Hadean depends on each and every one of our amazing employees who strive for excellence in their roles, gaining skills, values, and connections. Engaging with our esteemed guests and, of course, our very own learning and team-building activities got us metaverse-ready and fired up for the year ahead.
